Heyo Folks. I've been off the radar since late, and I apologize to the few but sincere readers who visit my blog regularly. I'm socially active with so many activities outside college, (church choir and cultural society) that I hardly got time for anything else. I couldn't find time for myself either, hardly dressed up or anything, so the Dusshera Mela 2013, NIFT Delhi was the perfect opportunity to spring back.
Held on the 9th of October, it was a night when every Niftian got eager to dress there ethnic best and dance to the craziest Bollywood beats and of course, the Dandiya. Several stalls were put up by the students, the portable Paanwaala being a hit. And it goes without saying, the outfits were incredible. Here are a few out of the many outfits I spotted standing out in the fashionable crowd.
Loving the chunky feel of the above outfit. She mix matched each detail in a chaos which blended perfectly and made the outfit work. Who would have thought the belt would go outside the dancer's costume and make it to the common man!
The splurge of Pink broken by the unified colors helped the above outfit stand out. The work in the dupatta/shawl is amazing. Complete it with a beautiful smile and you're good to go :)
Eveleena had a dash of Boho vibe in her outfit.I loved the detailed blouse and the wide pants accessorized with just the right amount of jewelry.
No matter what occasion, Class is never out of style. Anushka flaunts her beautiful dress and heavenly worked bolero with a classy Greek hairdo completing it with the beautiful earrings.
Now this one is clever. Creative. And I love it. A tribal print black and white blouse with Pink ethnic wrap-rounds (sarongs), accessorized with right amount of chunky jewelry. Contrast? Check.

Coming to my outfit, I had been planning so many outfits in my mind for this night. I wanted to go the Bohemian meets the Indian Ethnic, but due to several reasons I couldn't find the perfect outfit. So I thought of collecting clothes from friends and see what I can do with whatever I had. Thanks Nidhisha for readily lending me soooo many clothes and giving me choices, inspiring me and helping me look presentable.

I wore Nidhisha's old Kathak 'anarkali' and teamed it with my cream midi skirt. Accessorized it with this choker from Sarojini. Yes, people in Delhi are familiar with this choker. It's everywhere :P And wore my Catwalk sandals. I kept the make-up natural with an orange tint lip-stick and natural hair, which b-t-w, I got it chopped off yesterday. Muhahaa.

This picture is with some of the Niftians from Assam, the state which grew me up. Cheers! The night was all fun for me, dancing to every beat of the desi songs. It's not everyday I get to show the Desi girl in me you know :D
A big thanks to Abhijeet and Amlan for patiently clicking pictures for me and being the amazing photographers I know you are. You can always visit Amlan's page on Facebook (Click on his name in the credits).
I'll try being more active and not keep you waiting for long. Till then,
XoXo. God bless!
